WHO IS LORE?

Lore (Melora) is the heroine of Alexandra Bracken’s novel of the same name. She belongs to House Perseus, based on the Greek Hero Perseus, Founder of the Mycenae and Slayer of Gorgon, Medusa. Lore is the last mortal member of the Perseides.

At the start of the novel, Lore is residing in New York City and boxing at a local ring, hiding from her heritage and the murderous Agon about to follow.

WHAT IS THE AGON?

Every seven years, a game occurs between the houses of the ancient Greek heroes. This game is called the Agon and for centuries the King of Gods, Zeus, has used the game to punish the gods. During the Agon, Zeus turns the gods mortal for one week and for the duration of the Agon, the gods remain at the mercy of being hunted by those with godly ambitions. Only a handful of the original Greek gods remain, the rest replaced by the mortals who killed them and ascended.

THE BLOODLINES AND HOUSES OF LORE

THE LIVING LINES

BEARERS OF THE MARK OF THE SERPENT

BEARERS OF THE MARK OF THE TROJAN HORSE

BEARERS OF THE MARK OF THE MINOTAUR

BEARERS OF THE MARK OF THE WARRIOR

BEARERS OF THE MARK OF THE GORGON

The bloodlines and houses featured in LORE are the living descendants of some of the greatest heroes of Greek mythology. They have estates and homes all around the world, and have obtained massive wealth and power through having new gods or through destroying other bloodlines and absorbing their business and weapons. Even in modern times, they are rife with cruel/restrictive edicts, backstabbing, and violence.

While there were originally nine bloodlines to match the nine gods of the Agon, only five remain.

The symbols above represent what the bloodlines believe to be their ancestor’s greatest feat of strength or cunning, and they’re very close to what the bronze masks of each bloodline look like. (The hunters wear masks as a way of disguising their identities from the gods who might seek retribution in the years between the Agons, and to identify other members of their bloodline.)

TAKE THE QUIZ AND FIND OUT WHICH HOUSE YOU BELONG TO

Disclaimer: the Houses and blood lines featured in this quiz (and the book) are cruel, violent and at times pure evil, but they are also fictional. There is also a chance we may get your result wrong (unfortunately we are mere mortals and do not possess the power of the Gods).
